Inspired by the National Core Arts Standards, we work in many art mediums to study art, artists, culture, and learn about how we learn through the study of Metacognition.

Grade 1 Huff - 9:05 - 9:50
K Murphy - 9:55 - 1:40
Grade 2 - 1: 20 - 2:05

Enrichment:
4 Week Rotation
Art Enrichment covers two themes. They are: Metacognition - thinking about one's thinking and how to get the most out of your education through knowledge of brain research.
Mindfulness - learning ways to calm one's mind so you can be mindful (in the moment).
Each K - 3 class is part of this rotation.

Curriculum
Preschool: Our preschool students delve into a variety of artists and art materials in an experiential way. We experiment, get a bit messy and find joy in art making.
Grades K - 3: Our K - 3 students are presented with art sketchbooks - each containing grade level lessons that can be explored independently.

Art History & Integrated Arts
Annual Events
Goodwin Library - Shows of student art in the children's room, rotating year round.
Virtual Art Show
Students from each class will be represented in their class show.
Art to Remember - art fundraiser, students make art and families can by art on T shirts, bookmarks, mugs and more!
Grade 3 Art/Music Event - a large collaborative unit such as Canjo making or Drawn to the Music (art for the symphony)
