World History at SHS

In Ms. Chastenay's World History Classes students bartered, and used money given to the students to buy treats. They were using tools acquired by the Phoenicians and Lydians: The Alphabet, Contracts (Verbal of course), Bills of Sale, and coins. Ms. Lawn, Mr. Nestor, and Mr. Troy all came in to run stores. Two blocks were able to shop from two stores for competing prices! The other block gave Ms. Lawn Tips! Following their bartering and shopping students evaluated the value of barter in modern society and the accomplishments of the Phoenicians and Lydians.

Unity

On Friday, October 13th, UES hosted our own Unity Fire Department for our annual 'Fire Safety Day'.

All of our students met with the Fire Chief, were shown a Fire Safety film and had a question and answer session. The highlight for the students was seeing and operating the fire fighting equipment. They had a "BLAST !"
