National Art Honor Society

The purpose of the National Art Honor Society is to inspire, promote and acknowledge excellence at the high school level in art. It is also to share the expertise of high school students in the area of art throughout the community and to offer and promote scholarship opportunities and recognition in the school and community for talented art students. There are currently over 2,200 chapters throughout the United States.

Membership:

NAHS is a nationally recognized club for high-achieving students with an interest in advocating visual art within the school and within the community. We participate in art-related community service-based projects. NAHS members are encouraged to run for office. NAHS officers practice leadership not only in NAHS meetings, but also in the SHS Art Club, where their office carries over.


Eligibility:

  • Membership is based on art scholastic (art GPA of 3.5) and enthusiasm for art

  • Be of good character

  • All applicants must have an overall 3.0 GPA

  • Must have completed a minimum of 1 and 1/2 credits in Visual Arts
