We allow students to join band throughout the school year until March. Exceptions are made for students who are joining us from other schools, but who already play an instrument.

We encourage as many students to join as possible, however, we want our students to be as successful as possible in a performance setting. Students can join up to four weeks before a concert. Check out the calendar, and communicate with us to get your student involved as soon as possible.

While it does not cost money to join band, we ask that you rent instruments through Music and Arts. They have lease to own options for quality instruments. However, if there is an extenuating financial circumstance, there are some school instruments that are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. We want anyone to be able to experience the joy of learning to play an instrument!

Fifth grade meets during enrichment time, and fourth grade will be coordinated based on the lesson schedule with the fourth grade team of teachers. Along with the band block, students will have 10 minute one-on-one lessons with Ms. O'Day once a week. Due to the nature of learning an instrument, we ask that your student practices daily, at home for 15 minutes. We will work with your student to learn the most efficient way to practice.

Yes! Performing is a huge milestone in community music making. We are currently planning on 3 concerts this year. One in December, one in March, and one in May.

Absolutely! We know that there are many activities that take place outside of the school day, however, band and chorus instruction is within school hours. We only ask that the students practice as part of their homework routine and attend the 3 scheduled concerts throughout the year.
