Title 1

Title I is a federally-funded program designed to help students in need of additional support services in the academic areas of reading and math. At the Deerfield Community School, Title I funds are currently used to supplement the math program. 

This is NOT a Special Education program. It is for students who may need additional assistance with math skills. Those children participating in the Title I math program are chosen by their classroom teacher and the RTI (Response To Instruction) team-based on summative and formative assessments. Title 1 teachers work closely with the classroom teachers to ensure progress in mathematics.
