Epom Central School Flag Football Intramural Program
Epom Central School Flag Football Intramural Program
The ECS Flag Football Intramural Program is a free, inclusive opportunity for students in Grades 3–8 to develop athletic skills, build teamwork, and gain a deeper understanding of flag football. Through structured gameplay and skill-focused activities, students will develop fundamental football techniques including throwing, catching, flag pulling, and positional awareness, while sharpening communication, spatial awareness, and strategic thinking. The program is designed to meet students where they are, welcoming all skill levels in a safe and encouraging environment. Beyond the field, participants will walk away with a stronger sense of their own ability and confidence.
Our program combines the NFL FLAG In-School curriculum with the experience of our Program Director to create a structured, engaging environment where every participant can thrive. The focus remains on skill development, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
The program runs for 8 weeks, with sessions held once a week on Fridays after school. Each session includes a mix of skill drills, structured gameplay, and curriculum lessons, giving participants the opportunity to grow their abilities while competing in a fun and balanced environment alongside their peers.
Our program DOES NOT replace your student's recreational or competitive flag football league. Program gameplay will be player led with adult supervision.
Earlier this year, the Program Director sent out flyers to gauge interest in a flag football program. Twenty-seven students responded, with roughly two-thirds of the interest coming from Grades 3 and 4. I'd love to see more students from Grades 5 through 8 get involved. The program schedule is designed so it won't conflict with your child's existing ECS or EYAA Spring Sports commitments. Sessions will be on Fridays right after school until 4:30 PM starting in April.
