Chichester RamBots is the VEX IQ competitive robotics team for Chichester Central School. Our team consists of children in grades 5-8. We compete locally and at the state level.
Our team is starting for the 2018-2019 competition season which runs from September until early February.
Chichester Central School strives to provide students with opportunities to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). What better opportunity than to have a hands-on learning experience of STEM being applied to solve a problem and work towards a goal. Team members design/engineer and program their robots.
VEX IQ is a robotics kit that is made of snap together plastic parts, motors, sensors and a small onboard computer. Team members will design and build a robot that they will use to complete tasks in the challenge in order to score as many points as possible. During competition, there will be a driver's challenge where team members drive the robot via remote control in a 60 second challenge. There is also a driver-less challenge where the robot is programmed by the team to complete tasks autonomously. This year's challenge is called Next Level. See the video below to learn more.
