There is grandfathering factored into this plan. Siblings enrolling as new students for the 2025-26 school year who have a sibling currently attending a Portsmouth elementary school may choose to enroll in their currently districted school rather than enrolling at Little Harbour.
Here are some different selection possibilities:
A family in a transition neighborhood currently has a student enrolled in New Franklin in grade 3. They have a child enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year. This family may choose to keep the students together and enroll the kindergartener at New Franklin School.
A family in a transition neighborhood has a student in grade 4 at Dondero and a child who will start kindergarten in 2026-2027. They may choose to have both students attend Dondero.
A family has a student enrolled in Dondero in grade 4 and a child attending grade 1 at Dondero. They may choose to enroll the first grade student at Little Harbour while keeping the 4th grader at Dondero.
A family has just moved to Portsmouth and lives in a transition neighborhood with students who will attend grades 2 and 5. This family will need to enroll their students at Little Harbour.
