Dear Parent/Guardian:

Welcome back to the 2020/2021 school year. We hope you were able to relax with your families and enjoy the beautiful, warm summer. We know that the uncertainty and unprecedented changes due to the pandemic have been difficult for everyone. We want to assure you that we are implementing every measure recommended by the CDC and NHSLP in order to ensure the safety of food preparation and service during the school lunch program. The health and well being of the students is our top priority.

All cafeteria staff will have their temperatures taken upon arrival and complete a wellness check. Masks and gloves will be worn at all times, and gloves will be changed frequently. All surface areas, including meal carts, will be cleaned and disinfected continuously. Lunches will be delivered to the classrooms in closed, disposable plastic containers. All utensils and condiments will be provided in single serve, sealed units. Social distancing will be maintained while lunch is being distributed.

We hope these guidelines help to alleviate any concerns that you may have. Our commitment is to keep the students healthy and safe as we enter back into the new norm. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Each month a menu will be posted on the school website under the Quick Links. The price of hot or cold lunch is offered every day for $2.95, which includes milk. Each student will have a choice of beverage which includes: fat free, 1%; and low-fat chocolate milk.

Milk and bottled water can be purchased by students who bring their own lunch. We sell a variety of A la carte items. If you do not want your child to purchase extra items, please discuss this with your child ahead of time. Milk $0.50

TICKET PROGRAM / DEBIT SYSTEM

Each child will have a picture ID debit card. To activate your child’s accounts, simply send in a payment of whatever amount you choose to apply to the account. Cash or check made payable to: Rye Junior High School. Please include a note with your child’s name and homeroom teacher.

We now offer on line payment with PaySchools Central: www.payschoolscentral.com When your child’s account reaches a $10.00 balance a notice will be sent by e-mail.

NEGATIVE ACCOUNTS

Please note we discourage any charging of school lunches. Borrowing is allowed for students who misplace, forget their money, or did not bring the correct amount of money. If the account goes into the negative, a notice with the amount owed will be e-mailed to you.
