Homework is given as a chance to reinforce content covered in class. 

 Responsibility 10%

Be prepared for class by bringing your notebook, agenda, lab sheets, writing utensil, etc. to each class session.

 Classwork 15%

Classwork not only includes written work but also includes relevant classroom and academic expectations.

 Assessments 65%

• Quizzes 

  • Shorter assessments that are worth fewer points and used to check that students are keeping up with the material covered in class.  

• Tests, projects, lab reports

  • Longer assessments that are worth more points and used to check that students are able to connect multiple concepts covered within a unit.

Students who earn a grade lower than a 70% may do retakes on tests, labs and projects, at the teacher's discretion.  The maximum score possible on retakes is 70%.  Retakes are designed for students who did poorly on an assignment, but have been up to date on all notes and activities in class and need a second chance.  Work will be accepted up to two weeks after the original assignment grade has been issued.
