Product Assessments
Product Assessments make up 90% of the quarter grade. These are assessments in the forms of quizzes, tests, performance tasks, projects, etc. Product assessments will be used to assess what students know and are able to do at a particular point in time. These are the assessments related to students' specific achievements and levels of performance.
Product Assessments are accepted up to 5 days late. 10% is deducted for each day late which includes weekend days.
Upon approval by the teacher a student is allowed to reassess, earning the second grade as the replacement grade up to a 70%.
Responsibility
Responsibility counts for 10% of the quarterly grade and plays a key role in a successful, learning-focused school year. It reflects a student’s organization and accountability through homework, warm-ups, collaborative problem solving, reflections, cooperation, participation, and preparation. While not always visible on assessments, these efforts demonstrate the process behind final achievement.
Homework, graded as part of the Responsibility category, provides individual practice and typically takes approximately 30 minutes per class meeting. It is assessed based on effort, not just accuracy. Students must show all work and demonstrate valid problem-solving attempts to receive full credit at the start of class.
Incomplete or missing homework at the start of class will receive partial credit. Late homework may be accepted at the teacher’s discretion, usually until the end of the unit.
Students must have the following for EVERY Math class:
Staples Accel Spine-Guard 1 subject spiral bound notebook with pockets
or
Five Star® Advance Wirebound Notebook, 1 Subject, College/Wide Ruled, 11" x 8-1/2" w/ movable pocket dividers
Agenda
Pencils with erasers
Mini-stapler & staples
In the event of an absence, it is the STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to make up all work. It is the STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO:
Check Google Classroom for homework, handouts, notes, etc.
Call a classmate for additional information, if needed.
Schedule a time to meet with Dr. Hall during a Skills period, if needed.
