Sra. Robbins' Requirements for College Recommendations
If you would like me to write you a recommendation, you must follow the steps below. I need everything to write your recommendation by THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, If you do not have the materials to me by then, I will not write a recommendation for you.
1, Do not cheat in my class.
2. Ask me to write a recommendation ASAP. I will let you know if I think you should ask another teacher.
3. I only write confidential recommendations. Students who request a letter of recommendation from me must agree to waive their FERPA rights.
That being said, if I have agreed to write a recommendation, I will write a good recommendation.
4. Complete the blue recommendation worksheet from guidance.
5. Write a two paragraph description about yourself that I can use in your recommendation letter.
a. Paragraph 1: Describe your contributions to my class.
i. Think of specific accomplishments in my class
ii. Use descriptive adjectives
b. Paragraph 2: Describe your accomplishments outside of my classroom.
i. Elsewhere in the school
ii. At home/at work
iii. Be specific and descriptive
6. I usually write recommendations over the summer of your junior year. You need to meet all of the above criteria by the end of JUNE.
7. Thank me and the other teacher who wrote you a recommendation. We do this because we want to help you, not because we have to. Let us
