Welcome to the new year in 4 ~ G!
December News
Spelling/Written work: review ~
All sentences...
Are complete with a subject and predicate.
Start with a capital letter
Have end punctuation.
Have correct spelling.
November News:
Fourth grade expectations have fully "kicked in."
Students lose points on their work for missing, capital letters, punctuation, spelling, and not following directions. We discussed this as a group in our morning meeting.
Work that is incomplete is graded as is, and as always, students have a chance to redo work that is below a 70% over the weekend that it is passed back, provided it has been signed by a parent/caregiver.
Redo Policy:
If students get below a 70% on a graded assignment, they may ask to retake/redo the work. The only time this is not allowed is if retakes become a habit rather than a student doing their very best work the first time.
Math tests: Student must reach a mastery of 80% on math tests. There will be reteaching and retesting for those that test below the 80%. The new test will only be on items that they had incorrect answers for.
I want children to self-advocate, it is a wonderful skill to foster!
