"In support of student focus, academic engagement, and social connection, our school is continuing to implement a cell phone-free learning environment, as now required by a new state law.
"Pending final School Board Policy the following procedures will be followed and enforced.
First Offense
The student will receive a verbal warning and be reminded to put their device away
Second Offense
The device will be turned into the main office for the remainder of the school day. The classroom teacher will notify parents/guardians. The student may retrieve the device from the main office at dismissal.
Repeated Offenses:
A disciplinary referral will be issued, and a parent/guardian will be required to pick up the device from the principal’s office at the end of the school day. Repeated offenses will result in a student being required to check in their device into the main office daily.
