8th Grade American History

Welcome, students! This year you will be embarking on the rigorous mental journey that is the study of American history. During this journey, you will learn how to develop your abilities to evaluate and respond to some of the most fundamental questions and forces that have shaped America during its development. These questions and forces include:

  • What makes for the best form of government?

  • How do societies change themselves overtime?

  • How does conflict shape history?

  • How can we learn from the past to better the future?

  • What traditions have shaped the world we live in?

  • What will be our legacy for future generations to consider?

"But What is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections of human nature?" - James Madison

"Live Free Or Die; Death Is Not The Worst of Evils." - John Stark
