September 9th - First Day of Preschool!
September 16th - Picture Day
This is where I will post our monthly calendars so you can see what we will be learning about and some of the activities we have planned.
I typically plan learning themes that last for one to two weeks. Many of our themes are based on the children's interests, questions, and curiosity. This approach is called Emergent Curriculum, and it allows us to build our learning around what the children are excited about and interested in exploring.
From time to time, I may ask families to help us by sending something in from home or emailing me a picture. For example, when we are learning about shapes, I might ask you to look around your home with your child, find different shapes, and send me a picture of what you discover.
Another example might be during the fall, when I may ask your child to bring in a few fall leaves for us to explore and use in a classroom activity.
These little connections between home and school are a wonderful way to help children share their experiences and make our classroom learning even more meaningful!
