A village is a small rural settlement larger than a “hamlet” but smaller than a “town.’ The average village population runs between 500 – 2,500 persons. Our Warren village has a population just above 800 souls with 60 of those enrolled in our PreK-8 school. True to the adage “it takes a village,” WVS students and staff routinely interact with our small business owners, our village administrator, our selectpersons, our road agent, our chief of police, our fire chief, our ambulance service, our veterans, our pastor, and the community at large. These entities are as invested in the health, welfare, and success of our children as we are. In fact, you could consider them pro bono adjunct faculty! Our children are known, loved, and cared for by the entire community.
