Phase 3 (April 17)
- I'm working directly with teachers on technology integration. The app Book Creator is being introduced to many classes.
- All 5th grade students will be working with me on new unit of study for math. Watch Seesaw for upcoming details.
- Students who need to move up a level in TypingClub or Tynker should contact me at sgagnon@sau16.org.
- For students wanting to code in Scratch, I've added a join link for my Scratch class on the Makerspace resource page. https://www.symbaloo.com/mix/smsmakerspace Please follow the directions and use an alias for the student name.
- Kindergarten students who would like to continue with CodeSpark:The Foos for coding should watch Seesaw for an announcement on how to access.
- As announced, the Makerfest/Artfest is still happening. If they haven't already, interested students can begin working on a project. The event will take place toward the end of May.
- Students who have parent permission, can access MinecraftEdu for free. (There are many cool premade worlds for students to explore.) The app can be downloaded to a computer or added as an app on an iPad. Look for a screencast on the SMS Wolves site next week on how to do it (Look under IT Expert). - Students should still practice typing on a regular basis. :)
3/27 Grades1-5 Our next goal is to get all students logged into their TypingClub account from home and to begin practicing typing using that program. Students who forget their log-in information should contact me directly through email. The home page for Typing Club that students need to use can be found below in the Makerspace resources. For my kindergarten friends who would like to try some typing, they should also be directed to the Makerspace resource page. In the top left corner there are other typing games with no account needed. I personally like the cup stacking one. :)

3/16-3/26 Our first order of business is to set up communication. Students in K-5 can log in to Seesaw from home. Students can post items there as a way to communicate with their teacher and me. It would also be helpful if students in grades 2-5 could log in to Google Chrome from home. (Several online resources used at SMS are linked to their Google account.) Please check out the screencasts link below for helpful videos.
