Poetry Performance

For this assessment, you must choose ONE original poem (written by you) that you will "perform" for the class. Your chosen poem must be a draft you consider complete (even if it has not been full revised).

To "perform" your poem, you may:

Read the poem expressively

Recite the poem from memory

Create a video recording of an expressive reading/recitation of the poem

Your performance will be graded on:

VOLUME & CLARITY: Was your voice loud enough? Was every word understandable?

CONTROL OF YOUR BODY: Did you use purposeful body language?

EXPRESSION: Did your tone and physicality appropriately match the poem?

ENGAGEMENT OF AUDIENCE: Did you look up/toward your listeners?
