2025-25
Welcome to the 2025-26 Exeter High School Blue Hawk Marching Band season! I know it is the start of summer, but band camp will be here before you know it. Please take some time to carefully read over this page with your families. There is a lot of important information here about our Incoming Freshman Meeting, Band Camp, the Marching Band Season, the Exeter Band Boosters, and Summer Communication.
Sincerely,
Timothy Miles

Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday June 4th we will have a meeting for incoming freshman and their parents/guardians at 7 p.m. in the EHS Band Room. During this meeting you will have the chance to fill out the forms that are required to be submitted before band camp, pick up your music, meet upperclassmen in the band, and have your questions answered about band. Please plan on attending.
August 11-15, 2025
Learn the music and drill for our halftime show, and the music for our school fight song, the Star Spangled Banner, and our stand tunes.
Set the standards for music and marching success for the year.
Establish an environment of dignity and respect for all.
Meet new friends, build community, and have fun!
Band Camp is based out of the Exeter High School Band Room. As you face the High School, the Band Room is to the far left, in the front of the building. There is a side door that the students may enter through; just drive down near the tennis courts and you will find us!

I will also take a few minutes to address the parents about the band program, the Band Boosters, and how you can help to support your student. All parents and families are strongly encouraged to attend. Students will be dismissed to parents immediately following the half-time show.
Music: It is important to try to memorize the music BEFORE Band Camp. Between learning the music, learning how to march, and learning to play that music while marching, Band Camp may be a bit overwhelming. The students can make it easier on themselves by learning the music ahead of time. You need to print, practice and try to memorize the half-time show before band camp. You can only access the music files from your SAU 16 Google account. Click HERE for pdfs of your music. Band Camp will run more smoothly if you’ve done your part to learn the music over the summer. Freshman trumpets: please print and learn Trumpet 2/3.
Forms: Click for your required forms. The forms and the dry-cleaning payment are due:
NO LATER THAN THE FIRST DAY OF BAND CAMP ON AUGUST 11
If you did not submit these at the June 5th meeting, then please mail these forms to:
Exeter Band Boosters
PO BOX 334
Exeter, NH 03833
As a last resort, you may also send the forms and payment with your student on the first day of Band Camp if necessary. A representative of the Boosters will be there in the morning of the first day to collect the forms. Please DO NOT give the forms to Mr. Miles.

Football starts Friday August 15th and the rest of athletics start Monday August 18. Football would be the only sport that conflicts with Band Camp. If this is an issue for you, please contact Mr. Miles and we will do over the details of how we can work this out.
Uniforms:
Students will be fitted for uniforms during Band Camp; parent volunteers will assist with any alterations which need to be made.
Students are responsible for their uniforms. During the year, it is the responsibility of the student to dry clean their uniform if it is stained from their instrument, mud or food. The Band Boosters have the uniforms dry-cleaned at the end of the school year.
Shoes: For the first football game you must have a pair of black Dinkles Vanguard marching band shoes. We have many used pairs that we sell for less than a new pair. See the band boosters at Band Camp for more info.
Black socks: you will need black socks (not ankle socks!) that come up over your ankle. We should not see skin if your pant leg lifts up. The Band Boosters have extra if you forget yours.
Black gloves: Band members will be given one pair of gloves with their uniforms during Band Camp. Students are responsible for their gloves. There is a $2.00 fee for a new pair of gloves which may be purchased before football games/events.
Calendar: Click HERE for a link to a printable copy of the 2025-26 Band Calendar.
The Exeter Band Boosters is a non-profit group consisting of parent volunteers who help provide organizational and fundraising support for the band program at Exeter High School. Your participation in the Boosters is encouraged and welcome!
We have many activities during the year and it takes everyone working together to make them a success. Please plan on attending our meetings which occur on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Band Room. Reminders will be sent each month to confirm dates and times.
I can be reached over the summer at tmiles@sau16.org (checked at least once a week during the summer until August 11).
I will not be able to check my school phone (603) 395-2449 during the summer until August 11th.
Have a great summer and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
