Hello Everyone,

I hope this finds your family healthy. Sickness really went through our class in the last two weeks. We have been cleaning the tables and airing out the room every afternoon. I hope we are all healthy now. I will take this week to make sure everyone has caught up on work and finished projects. We may need to use a few lunch recesses to reteach a few lessons that the students have missed. I know they don't want to miss recess but I don't want them to feel lost as we move forward through our curriculum.

We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Wed. Feb. 14. If your child would like to bring in valentines to share or a snack to share, that would be welcomed.

I will meet with the students to set our new NWEA goals. I will release all scores to you as soon as everyone has finished their makeups. I will set more specific goals to work on for homework starting after February vacation.

Stay tune for the Read Across America schedule for the week before February vacation.

This week our focus will be:

  • Reading: Our story this week will be about Abraham Lincoln.
  • Math: We will continue our study of fractions. We will also be working on coding as part of our Coding Olympics.
  • Science: We will continue our natural hazards unit by studying volcanos.
  • Social Studies: Begin our study of the mid-west region.

Take care,

Mrs. Lacaillade
