Assignments for Week Ending 5/25/18

• Complete both NOTE TAKING sheets
• Complete Terms for Poetry and Figurative Language
• May Journal due on 5/25
• Packet One: Those with a Dream
• Packet Two: We're in the Army Now
• Packet Three: At Work in the World of Science

Important things to remember:

Journal Formatting: Times New Roman; Size 14 Font; 1.5 line spacing; one inch side margins; No paragraph indents.

Cinderella Rule: (applies only to Journals) Submit by midnight on due date for full credit.

Test Essays: Must conform to Journal Formatting.

Handwritten work must be completed in blue or black ink.

Literary Analysis: All assignments should include 'Assignment Page Number' with each response separated and numbered.

All of your work should be submitted in complete sentences with appropriate punctuation. We are, after all, refining your skills in Language Arts. Your responses should reflect careful thinking and a thorough reading of the text. Support your responses with details from the text.

Extra Help

Extra help is generously offered. You may come in before school (Monday through Friday) from 7:30 to 8:05 or during lunch recess (Monday through Thursday) from 12:20 to12:50. If you attend an ENTIRE tutorial session (half hour in the morning or twenty minutes during lunch/recess) you can earn points to be used on a disappointing test score (five for a morning session, three for a lunch session) but you must be working with me for the entire time. Note: you may not apply more than twenty points to any single assignment.
