Title I is a federally funded grant that aims to provide supplemental funding to assist students in meeting the State Department of Education’s challenging performance standards and have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high- quality education in Reading and Math. In this district, we have two schools that qualify as schools with Title I support. This allows us to provide services to students who need a small group setting and build partnerships with parents. We all work together towards a common achievement goal through family engagement events and tutoring sessions that focus on building communication, collaboration and self awareness in addition to math and reading skills. The Title I funding is committed to helping schools close the achievement gap.
