Q: Where is camp held?
A: Summer art camp is held in my classroom in Pleasantville Elementary.
A: Community Camps and Parties are held at various locations including the Webb Shadle Public Library, Pleasantville Memorial Hall, and anywhere you set up a party!
Q: My student doesn't go to Pleasantville, can they still go to art camp?
A: Absolutely they are welcome, often relatives of students and home school students join in the fun and creativity!
Q: I have trouble getting my kids to and from at different times, can they stay there while the other is at camp?
A: This is completely dependent on the student, I understand it is difficult and I will do my best to help you out, sometimes its totally fine to leave them, older ones enjoy helping, but sometimes younger kids won't enjoy themselves. Contact me and we can discuss.
Q: My student is now in the middle school, can they still come?
A: They are more than welcome to register for Special Art Camps and the 3rd and up camp. If your student is hoping for a more upper level specialized camp they would most enjoy the special camps. If they have something specific in mind I am happy to hear their suggestions and see what I can do!
Q: You talked about adult camps, when are they?
A: Currently there are a few different options. Once a month held at the Webb Shadle Public Library paver painting is available for all ages but directed more towards adults. Also, thanks to Pleasantville Parks and Rec there are occasional 21+ BOYB rug painting events. Check out the Community Section or my Pville Art Camp Facebook page. Want to host your own event?! Q: My students went to art camp previously, will it be the same "stuff" this year?
A: Nope! I make sure that your student will never create the exact same thing ever at art camp, to makes sure of this I spend a lot of time coming up with new projects and I will rotate them after 4 years so no one does the same thing twice...there are a couple exceptions including sand art which is loved by all and requested frequently.
Q: Can a three year old attend PK camp?
A: It really depends on the student, as long as your kiddo can follow directions pretty well and is able to use the restroom by themselves (I can't leave the other students unattended during potty breaks) your three year old is welcome!
Q: My student is currently in 3rd grade but wants to attend a special camp, is it okay?
A: It really depends on the student, special camps are supposed to be more student lead and much less hands on for me, if you student feels confident in art class and is successful with out needing help they may absolutely attend, if they struggle greatly waiting a year may be a good idea, but contact me and we can talk about what is best.
Q: What payment options do you take?
A: For community events cash or Venmo at @Ashley-Robinson-400. For summer camp both cash or Venmo as well as checks written to Ashley Robinson are accepted.
