Valentines Day Card Project

February 2021

In order to celebrate Valentines Day, the students of Region 5 decided to make and donate cards to the America'a Adopt A Soldier Project. We felt that this would be a great opportunity to thank our soldiers for their commitment to protecting our nation and spread love. Each center began with the goal of making 108 cards and this goal was surpassed. We are extremely grateful to Swami for guiding us through this project. Please click here to see the cards made for this project.

Sai Sibling Bonding

January 29 & 30 (Click here to see the cards)

Sai Siblings from across the region to spend time with each other. The Region 5 SSE Student Council hosted Valentine's Day themed virtual Zoom sessions. During these sessions, we made Swami a Valentine's Day card in breakout rooms based on SSE groups (Pre-SSE, Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4). There were also many fun games and interactive activities for the children.

In the Pre-SSE group, we got to know all of our Sai brothers and sisters while making "love caterpillars" from hearts, and writing things we love on each heart! We had so much fun getting to know each other and naming our caterpillars at the end too! One student, Amrutha, told her mom that "she was the super sister in the world spreading love."

The SSE Group 1 kids showed their love and gratitude for Swami by making a tree - heart valentine filled with messages on why we love Him so much, We ended the session with a popcorn story also based on the theme of love.

The SSE Group 2 kids had a blast! They made a paper chain out of hearts and got to know each other while they were decorating them. After they finished their craft, they played a Kahoot with different riddles.

The SSE Group 3 kids began by playing 2 truths and a lie as an ice breaker followed by the card making. They talked and played songs and had their fellow Sai siblings guess which show/movie they were from.

The SSE Group 4 kids had great fun. They all had similar interests and talked about them for a good amount of time while making valentines for Swami!

Holiday Food Drive

December 2020

The SSE Students from across the Region set a goal of collecting 108 food items to donate to local pantries for the holidays. We collected non-perishable foods like pasta, beans, canned fruits, peanut butter, jelly, tomato sauce, cereal, canned vegetables, rice and much more! We highly surpassed our goal of 108 items collecting over 700 items as a region. This was an extremely fulfilling experience as many families are currently struggling to get food as a result of the pandemic. We were cautious to follow all local health guidelines during this drive in order to stay safe during this pandemic.

E-waste Collection Drive

September - November 2020

As our service project for the summer, the students from Region 5 decided to hold an E-waste collection drive. The Sri Satya Sai Organization as a whole has emphasized the importance of  preserving the environment in the launch of the 'Go Green' Initiative. We recognized E-waste as a large issue that negatively impacts our environment and this motivated us to conduct this drive. We collected over 108 different e-waste items and donated them to local e-waste collection facilities. As this project was conducted during the Pandemic, we were careful to follow local health and safety guidelines throughout this project.
