The course introduces historical development of Jainism in India. Various tangible and intangible cultural aspects like Architecture, Temple concept and development, Jain Art, Archaeology, etc helps one to understand the evolution of this religio-philosophical system.
Course objective:
To introduce participants to the various aspects of Jainism.
To understand the evolution of Jain Art & Architecture
To study the development and growth of Jainism in India
Know your roots. This course is designed for anyone that is interested in learning various facets of Jain Art & Archaeology.

Introduction to Jainism
Historical development of Jainism
Archaeology of places associated with Tirthankara's part 1
Society and Patronage to Jain monasteries and Art
Case study 1: Mt. Abu and the sacred landscape associated with it
Case study 2: Temple complex at Ranakpur

Learning Outcome:
On successful completion of this course , participants will know about various facets of Jain Art and Archaeology.
Course Duration : 4 Months (Maximum 32 Hours) and 2 hours per week of teaching.
Course Fee: Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only)- for Sathaye college students
Rs. 2000/- (two thousand only)- for other participants
