Parent/Student Handbook
Welcome to the new school year! This school year, your child will have many opportunities to grow and develop as individuals. They will build positive relationships, learn new academic skills, build daily living skills and pre-vocational/employment skills, and develop confidence and self-esteem. The program that your child will be attending is designed for students whose needs have not been successfully met in a traditional classroom environment. The staff in your child’s program have a commitment to provide a positive learning experience which promotes a cooperative instructional partnership among family, school, and community. The following information should help you get acquainted with your child’s SASED program, policies, and procedures.
All information provided in this Parent/Student Handbook, including dates, times, and locations are current as of July 1, 2025 and may be amended during the school year without notice. All information is accessed by clicking on the links on the left navigation menu. The Parent/Student Handbook contains summaries of schools' and programs' rules and expectations and is not a comprehensive statement of school/program procedures. The SASED Board's comprehensive policy manual is available for public inspection on SASED's website: SASED Board Policies or at SASED's administrative office located at 2900 Ogden Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532.
The Parent/Student Handbook was developed to answer many of the commonly asked questions that students and parent may have during the course of a school year. This Handbook contains important information for parents and students. It is the responsibility of all parents and students to become familiar with the contents of this Handbook. Should you have any questions not addressed in this Handbook, please contact the Program Administrator.
This Handbook applies to all SASED's Schools/Programs. For Programs that are located in a host district, SASED students and their parents must also follow the policies, procedures and rules of that host district.
