Qasim Rashid
Human Rights Lawyer, Executive Director of Common Purposes
Qasim Rashid is a human rights lawyer, author, and Executive Director of Common Purpose, an organization dedicated to electing more women and underrepresented Americans to public office. Qasim received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law. He has also served as a visiting fellow at Harvard University’s Islamic Studies program.
Professionally, Qasim works as a lawyer and consultant to help major organizations, small businesses, candidates for office, and non-profits improve their corporate strategies, messaging, and innovation. His human rights work includes supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence, representing asylum seekers, uplifting the incarcerated through prison chaplaincy, and advocating for universal religious freedom.
Edwin H. Oshiba

Edwin H. Oshiba, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment, Department of the Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Oshiba is responsible for the formulation, review and execution of plans, policies, programs and budgets to meet Air Force installations, energy, environment, safety and occupational health objectives.
Mr. Oshiba was commissioned in the Air Force in 1989 upon graduation from Santa Clara University. He commanded three civil engineer squadrons and an expeditionary Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force, or Prime BEEF, group and served in a variety of positions at garrison, major command and Headquarters U.S. Air Force levels. He retired in 2015 at the rank of colonel and has since served as the Deputy Director of Civil Engineers, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia, and Director, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, San Antonio, Texas. In his latest position as Director of Resource Integration, Deputy Chief of Staff of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, he was responsible for the planning, programming and budgeting of weapons systems sustainment, equipment and logistics and installations resource requirements.
