'Seesaw for Schools' is an investment made by Singapore American School to be a platform for developing an authentic student portfolio. This process begins in Kindergarten and follows through until the conclusion of Middle School. The benefits are considerable, but often come back to this key rationale:
A place to publish to authentic audiences
Develop community in an online space (digital citizenship)
Create a closed loop between students-teachers-parents that is centred on student learning.
Students and teachers post content to Seesaw via the Seesaw Class app. Parents and Families stay connected via the accompanying app. See below.
Grades K-2 students sign in using the provided QR code sent home by Tech Coaches via email.
Grades K-2 INSTRUCTIONS:
Open the Seesaw Class app.
Tap “I’m a student”.
Tap the blue “scan code” button and scan the QR for the class, or enter the text code.
Grades 3-5 students sign in using their SAS Google email and password.
Grades 3-5 INSTRUCTIONS:
Open the Seesaw Class app.
Input your Google email username and password. All your classes will be available to access and post.
Posting to Seesaw is very simple, and there are a variety of media supported:
Take a Photo (using the in-app camera) of your child engaging in their daily learning
Draw and label thinking, findings, or creativity using the Canvas
Take a short (up to 5 minutes), using the Video
Upload digital media (i.e. Camera Roll) to Seesaw
Compose a written Note
Provide a Link to a website, blog, or Google Drive
