Throughout the event, iPads were used extensively by teachers, student helpers, and house captains to ensure smooth and accurate coordination of all sporting activities:
Digital Recording of Scores and Results
All event scores were recorded in real-time using Numbers on iPads.
Automatic calculations and dynamic scoring dashboards enabled accurate and efficient tabulation of house points for both track and field events.
This reduced paperwork and improved transparency and speed in compiling final results.
Winner Tracking and Event Management
Marshals and event coordinators used iPads with preloaded event schedules to track participants, record winners, and ensure smooth transitions between events.
Shared iCloud folders enabled instant updates from different event stations to the central command area
Media and Documentation
The school media team captured high-resolution photos and videos using iPads for instant editing and sharing on the school's official social media platforms and website.
The integration of iPads during Sports Day did not only streamline event management but also enriched students’ digital literacy and leadership skills. This initiative reflects SAS’s core belief in preparing students for a technology-driven future while ensuring that school events are inclusive, efficient, and engaging.
As an Apple Distinguished School, SAS remains committed to leveraging Apple technology in purposeful ways that support excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
Bridging Cultures: Friendship Program with Sakata Higashi High School
The Friendship Program with Sakata Higashi High School was held on 20th March 2025 at SAS. The program aimed to foster cultural exchange between students from Malaysia and Japan through interactive activities that incorporated technology to enhance learning and creativity.
One of the highlights of the program was the integration of iPads in two key activities. Students explored the traditional art of batik and used iPads to look at the digital patterns before allowing them to experiment with colors and motifs creatively. Next, students worked in groups to compose haiku in both English and Japanese. They used iPads to draft, edit, and refine their poems before presenting them to the participants.
The use of iPads in the batik workshop and haiku writing session enhanced students' engagement and creativity, making the cultural exchange more interactive and meaningful. The program successfully blended tradition with modern technology, leaving participants with a deeper appreciation for each other's culture and new digital skills.
