It has been wonderful to see the first signs of spring as we return from the half‑term break. There is so much to feel positive about as we settle back into school life.
Next week, we are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day! The children (and adults!) are already excitedly discussing which characters they plan to dress up as. Zoe and Sam will also be serving a special World Book Day–themed menu, so please remember to place your food orders in advance.
Warmest regards,
Nicola O’Hare
Head Teacher
P.S. Don’t forget to follow our Instagram for the latest updates on school activities!
Reception reading has come on in leaps and bounds! This week, the children enjoyed comprehending their new book, Pin It On, with a fun game of ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’. They carefully read the instructions themselves before giving them a go — with great success!
World Downs Syndrome day is on Saturday 21st March.
This year Year 1 will be marking the occasion by taking part in the Downs Syndrome UK's Sunflower challenge by planting and growing sunflowers.
Sunflowers have been chosen because they represent everyone blooming in their own unique way. This day is all about celebrating individuality, kindness and inclusion - all qualities that are highly valued at Sarratt.
If you would like to donate to the Downs Syndrome UK charity please visit the website or scan the QR code on the poster which will also be displayed at the hatch in the school office.

Thea has been focusing in learning and working so hard with reading, phonics and maths making fabulous progress! She is also a fantastic artist with a fabulous sense of humour!
Krishika is a joy to teach! She is always open to feedback and tries hard to improve. She never stops smiling in school and has lovely manners.
Ava-Lily is a wonderful writer! She has been lowing me away with her writing based on A Midsummer Night's Dream. Shakespeare himself would be impressed by her use of similes and fronted adverbials!
Kaitlin has absolutely shone in PE showing creativity, imagination and teamwork when building and creating an obstacle course. Her encouragement and kind words made such a difference!

We kindly ask parents not to park on the grass alongside the pavement on the route from school towards Dawes Lane. Unfortunately, this area has recently been damaged by deep tyre tracks.
Please note that this grass verge is owned by the Parish Council and is not public land, so we must ensure it is treated with care.
