Sarratt School Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today the children's end of year school reports will be sent out. In the report you will receive important information letting you know how your child has performed against the expectations for their year group based on he teacher's professional judgement and informed by recent assessments. As always, you are welcome to contact the class teacher regarding any information in the report. You can send your feedback and questions via email to the school office.

Next week you will have the opportunity to see your children's progress first hand as we invite you in to share books and work from this academic year. We have offered two dates for KS1 and KS2, Monday 4th and Wednesday 6th July. Please come to the Green Gates at 2.50pm, where you will be directed to your child's classroom. Reception class will have open mornings the following week on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July.

I am sure many of you will have questions about who will be teaching your child next academic year. Please see the table below with details of the teaching team for 2022/23. We are really excited to welcome Mrs Atkinson to our team along with Miss Lavers, who has been with us this year, as a full time member of the teaching team. Having graduated recently with a First in Primary Education Studies, Mrs Pinner will have a change in role taking on teaching responsibilities across school. Our full staffing structure, including details of support staff allocation will be released once finalised on the school website.

The introduction of new members to the teaching team signals the beginning of a new era in the school but unfortunately the end of one too. Miss Stowe, our wonderful EYFS teacher, will be leaving us in the summer to start a fabulous new life in Norfolk with her family. Miss Stowe has been a huge part of the school for many years now and a big contributor to school improvement over her years here. Along with her partner in crime, Mrs Lee, she has given our children the best possible start to their School Education. We thank her from the bottom of of hearts for this and wish her the very best of luck in her new adventure.

Warmest regards,

Nicola O'Hare

Head of School

Sarratt School @ Wimbledon

This week, Mrs Goldspring and I had the pleasure of taking a group of Year 6 pupils to Wimbledon! We had an absolutely marvellous time; watching a match on Court 2, taking in the sights and sounds on Murray Mound and enjoying some Strawberries and Cream - we even made it onto TV! This was a wonderful experience for the children and one which we hope will become an annual event!

Bonnie's Skipping Challenge!

Bonnie in Year 1 and her mum, Jo, are undertaking a challenge to raise money for the charity MIND. 970 million people worldwide suffer with mental health issues so they are going to complete 9700 skips between them through July! You may even spot them skipping in the playground at drop-off and pick-up on certain days so we can see their progress before the Summer Holiday!

This is a wonderful challenge and if you would like to support Bonnie and her mum in achieving their goal, click the link below.
