A Busy and Brilliant Start to the New Academic Year
Our first full five-day week of the new academic year has been bursting with energy and enthusiasm as children dive into exciting new areas of learning. From Sea Farers and Ancient Egypt to Ocean Habitats and the Mayan Civilisation, pupils have been thoroughly engagedโdiscovering fascinating facts and developing fresh skills.
Beyond the classroom, itโs been a hive of activity. Our new temporary classroom is nearly ready, and weโre thrilled to welcome our youngest learners into their new space next week. Meanwhile, the village has been buzzing with excitement as The Green has been transformed into a film set! Weโre aware this has made drop-off and pick-up a little more challenging, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
Looking ahead to next week, weโre delighted to be welcoming Mrs Whitewood, our wonderful school photographer, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sheโll be capturing individual portraits and sibling group photos as the children settle into their new year. Please ensure your child is dressed in full school uniform on their designated photo day.
Warmest regards,ย

Chloe has made a wonderful start to Year 4 impressing both Mrs Serby and Mrs Lamb with her motivation to learn and her valuable contributions during whole class work!ย
Congratulations and well done to our 3 fabulous new faces in Year 5 - Stanley, Joe and Penelope. All 3 have settled into their new group so well - making friends and becoming familiar with rules and routines. We are so happy you have joined us.ย
Benji has made an impressive start to his final year - consistently engaged, focused and ready to learn. His reliability and wok ethic make him a valuable asset to our classroom.ย
As we settle into the new term, weโd like to remind families of our schoolโs packed lunch policy. This policy is based on current health and nutrition guidance, aiming to support children with a balanced lunch that fuels their afternoon of learning and play.
To promote healthy choices, we ask that certain items be avoidedโparticularly those high in salt, sugar, or saturated fat. Please also remember that we operate a strict No Nut policy across the school. We kindly ask that you check all packaging carefully to ensure compliance.
For a clear overview of whatโs encouraged and what should be avoided, please refer to the guidance tables below.
We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Monday 29th September at 8pm in school where we will discuss the details of last year's money raised and future plans. The meeting can also be joined virtually so please do contact Helen pta.chair@sarratt.herts.sch.uk if you need any more details.ย
