If you live in the U.S. you're eligible for a Santa Clara County Library District card. You may already know about the books, movies, audiobooks, ebooks, programs, free lessons in things that interest you, online magazines, and on and on and on. But there's always more to discover. Have a parent or guardian bring you in to get a full card and check out their summer reading program — you could win a prize!
If you live in California you're eligible for cards at:
The San José Public Library
It's a big library system with a lot of choices, online and off, with books, movies, ebooks, ways to satisfy your curiosity, and more. Looking online for an ebook or audiobook the local library doesn't own? Have a parent or guardian take you in for a free card.
The Sunnyvale Public Library
What could it hurt to have your name on another hold list so long as you take it off when you get the book? Have a parent or guardian bring you in for a free card. (Not a student card.)
If your parents opted in, you may have a public library eCard through the school.
To use your student eCard
go to https://student.sccld.org/ and log in.
Your library card number is
S + Student ID Number + SUSD
For example, if your student number were 123456, your library card number would be
S123456SUSD
Your 4-digit PIN is
Your birth month and day (mmdd).
For example, if your birthday were March 2, your PIN would be
0302
If your parents didn't opt you in for a school library card they can
Apply online for an eCard and add you as a household member for instant access.
(You must be a resident of Santa Clara County.)
or
Apply for a full card in person during service hours. Your parent will need an approved photo ID and an approved written address verification. (A driver's license could be both.) This gives you all sorts of benefits you can read about on the library website.
