Hello students!
Welcome to my writing website. This year we will be using the Lucy Calkins writing program. As digital citizens, you will be using technology as you draft, edit, revise and publish your work. Please frequently check this website for links, videos, discussion questions and the like to better help you become a more proficient writer.
I have also included information on Mind Up with links and videos embedded. Please refer to that page and my links page for more information about what happens in the classroom.
I am excited to see the ways in which you will grow as writers!
Jon Havens is currently in his 10th year teaching in the Saratoga district. He has several certificates in educational technology including Leading Edge, G Suite, PBL, and Mini-Merit. He has a passion for reading and writing. Outside of teaching he plays music in his bands, Bylines and Hurricane Roses, and has written several children's stories that he hopes to publish someday.
