Sky distribution of the sources (AGN) in the current K-band Celestial Reference Frame (K-CRF)
The sky distribution of the 1317 sources (AGN) of the CRF-K-2025 catalog (D. Gordon, USNO, 2025). The dotted lines show the ecliptic and the galactic plane. Overall median scaled formal uncertainties are 47 μas in right ascension and 81 μas in declination. These results indicate that, for the 824 sources in common, CRF K-2025 is over 40% more precise than the ICRF3 K-band.
