Hi, I'm Sarah.

Most of what I do begins with questions.

I am interested in how people make sense of complex problems, how institutions decide what counts as evidence, and how stories shape public understanding.

Over the past several years, I have worked in environmental communications, translating research, data, and technical information into accessible resources for communities, journalists, policymakers, and advocates. Along the way, I became increasingly interested not only in communicating knowledge, but in understanding how knowledge itself is produced, evaluated, and acted upon.

This site is a place to explore those questions. It brings together my writing, research, and ongoing projects. Some of these ideas are well developed. Others are works in progress.

I don't claim to have many answers. What interests me most is learning how better questions can lead to better ways of understanding and acting in the world.
