What's going on in our library this month?
Every Tuesday during lunch, students can come to the library and participate in the SJH Library Council. Each week students will have access to a different book or STEM related activity. So far we have colored bookmarks, made stickers, discussed March Madness Tournament of Books, and bedazzled everything! Members of the Library Council also give feedback about programming and book selection, helping to make the library the exact place they need it to be.
March Madness Tournament of Books!
What book does SJH think is the best? Staff and students have been voting all month to determine the answer to this question. The final four has been decided and the Championship round will be revealed next week. Will it be Twilight, Hunger Games, The Outsiders, or Ground Zero? Check back next month to find out who won.
All year long the student led Bible study group has been meeting in the library during lunch on Thursdays. These students have created and delivered presentations to their peers, with around 40 students participating each week. There has even been a musical performance!
To encourage students to read on a consistant basis, the library provides reading trackers each month. Each time students read for at least 20 minutes they can color in an image on the reading tracker. Once the page is completely colored in, they can bring it to the library and spin the prize wheel for candy, books, posters and more.
Students have a shot to win a prize if they can answer our brain teaser of the week. Each week's challenge is posted on the board in the library. Students just need to come by the library and fill out an entry slip with their guess and drop it in the box. We will draw a name at the end of the day Friday and the winner will be notified by email.
