How and where can I vote in-person?

In-person voting will be available.

Polls will be open from 8-8 p.m. The polling locations being used in the special election are the same locations as a typical general election. Please visit this website to determine your poll location.

If you arrive at the polls and are told that your ballot was already mailed to you, ask for a provisional ballot. This means your ballot will be counted once all mailed ballots are double-checked and processed.

Am I registered to vote? How do I register?

Regardless of how you cast your ballot, an up-to-date voter registration is required to vote. 

Voters must be registered, and the registration must reflect their current address and name.

You should update your voter registration if:

• you are a new resident of Middlesex County.

• you’ve moved within Middlesex County since the last time you voted

• you’ve legally changed your name since the last time you voted

Register to vote or update your registration:

• To register online, complete a voter registration form on the NJ Voter Information Portal. 

• To register by mail, print and mail a paper registration form, offered in English and Spanish, to Nancy J. Pinkin Middlesex County Clerk P.O. Box 1110 New Brunswick, NJ 08903-9925 

• Make an appointment to visit 26 Kennedy Blvd, Suite B, East Brunswick, to apply in person at the Clerk’s office.

• Call the County Clerk’s office (732-745-4202) to request a printed application be mailed to you. Fill it out and send the application back.

How can I vote by mail?

If you have requested a Vote By Mail ballot sent for all elections, you should be sent one automatically. 

UPDATE: If you registered for a Mail in ballot, they have already been sent out to registered voters and should arrive in the coming days. Should you not receive the requested ballot, please contact the Office of Middlesex County Clerk. 

Middlesex County will mail those ballots a couple weeks in advance of the referendum. 

1. Request a Vote By Mail ballot by submitting a paper application in English or Spanish to the County Clerk’s office. To receive a ballot in the mail, your application must arrive at the County Clerk’s office no later tbd.

Please note voters can also request a Vote By Mail ballot in person at the County Clerk’s Offices (Make an appointment to visit 26 Kennedy Blvd, Suite B, East)

2. Mail your ballot before the day of the vote! All mailed ballots must be postmarked by tbd. 

3. Track your ballot using the state’s voter portal. Setting up an account is free, and while this is an optional step, it is the only way to reliably monitor the status of your ballot online.
