Haiku is a type of short form poetry originally from Japan. Traditional Japanese haiku consist of three phrases and follow a 5, 7, 5 syllable pattern.
The students were asked to compose a haiku poem following this structure and then illustrate it either digitally or by hand.
Presented are a collection of original haiku poems and illustrations from the 8th Grade Art Class (Spring 2021)
