The Department of Chemistry started functioning with the inception of the college in 2018. The department has been involved in opening up the stupendous world of chemistry to undergraduate students. The main objective of the department is to impart knowledge in diverse areas of chemistry to the students. The department has been promoting curricular and co-curricular activities related to various disciplines of chemistry with the help of well qualified faculty. The department offers three-year and four-year UG programs. Currently, the sanctioned student strength of the B.Sc. degree programme is 30. The department also offers four add-on certificate courses, namely, Certificate Course in Basic Chemistry Softwares, Certificate Course in Chemistry for Entrepreneurship and Production, Numerical Methods in Mathematics and Tips and Tricks in Basic Math.

       The department has hosted numerous departmental, national, and international seminars/webinars, E-quizes, and other events. We also take our students to various industry and research organizations, such as CSIR-NIIST, Trivandrum, IISER, Trivandrum, Travancore Titanium Products Ltd., to make teaching and learning more experiential. We have been commemorating National Science Day, Environment Day, Ozone Day, and other days to instil a scientific temper and a love and concern for the environment in our students.
