*CARDINAL NIGHT*
SPHS Cardinal Night - Thursday, February 26, 2026
You are cordially invited to attend our annual Cardinal Night event on Thursday, February 26th in the McMahan Gymnasium at 6:00pm.
This is an in-person event where students will be able to visit various booths to learn about programs, clubs, Career Technical Education Pathways, and athletic offerings available to them at SPHS.
Note: Parking on Palm Ct. is limited. Please arrive early and plan to park on Santa Paula Street, in the Science & Technology building parking lot at the bottom of 5th St., or in the residential areas surrounding SPHS (Virginia Terrace, 6th St., Pleasant St.).
ISBELL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS - 8th graders will receive a paper copy of the registration form on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026. SPHS Counselors will present to Isbell students. Students will take the registration form home to their parent/guardian to review their course selections. SPHS Counselors will meet one-on-one with 8th graders at Isbell on Thursday, March 5th, 2026 and will collect their forms to finalize their course selections.
Out of District Incoming 9th Graders
You are invited to participate in selecting courses for the 2026-2027 school year at SPHS, and attend our Cardinal Night event.
BRIGGS STUDENTS -March 10 and 12- 8th graders will receive a paper copy of the registration form on Tuesday, March 10 during the registration presentation. Students will take the registration form home to their parent/guardian to review their course selections. SPHS Counselors will meet one-on-one with 8th graders at Briggs on Thursday, March 12 to finalize their course selections.
MUPU STUDENTS - March 10 and 12- 8th graders will receive a paper copy of the registration form on Tuesday, March 10 during the registration presentation. Students will take the registration form home to their parent/guardian to review their course selections. SPHS Counselors will meet one-on-one with 8th graders at Mupu on Thursday, March 12 to finalize their course selections.
ST. SEBASTIAN STUDENTS - Please check with the St. Sebastian office or call the SPHS Counseling Office at 805-525-4400, extension 22006 for registration information.

SPHS Future 12th grade (current 11th graders): Students will receive a copy of the registration form on Tuesday, 2/10 during the registration presentation. The presentation will be held during the first hour of the students Social Science class. Counselors will pull out students for their one-on-one meetings to throughout the school day on Wednesday 2/11, Thursday, 2/12 and Friday, 2/13 to finalize their course selection.
SPHS Future 11th grade (current 10th graders): Students will receive a copy of the registration form on Tuesday, 2/17 during the registration presentation. The presentation will be held during the first hour of the students Social Science class. Counselors will pull out students for their one-on-one meetings to throughout the school day on Wednesday 2/18, Thursday, 2/19 and Friday, 2/20 to finalize their course selection.
SPHS Future 10th grade (current 9th graders): Students will receive a copy of the registration form on Tuesday, 2/24 during the registration presentation. The presentation will be held during the first hour of the students English class. Counselors will pull out students for their one-on-one meetings to throughout the school day on Wednesday 2/25, Thursday, 2/26 and Friday, 2/27 to finalize their course selection.
