Familiar routines are the backbone of the OAAP classes. 

We have a special guest that comes on Mondays, Mrs. Vanessa Nelson. On Mondays, we will spend the whole time completing step-by-step procedures with recipes, experiments, and crafts. 

In Math, the days we sell at the School Store alternate with small group instruction. We will work on a subject area for a week each month (Number Sense, Algebra, Geometry, Data & Probability). Semester 2 we will focus on numbers, relationships and patterns, and measurement. 

In English, our units follow a procedure with pre-teaching vocabulary, class discussions with teacher modeling and reading aloud, reading comprehension activities, and presentations. When we have enough time, we will read fairy tales, myths, legends, fables, and folklore. Other authors we may study are Edgar Alan Poe, Jane Austen, Agatha Cristie, William Shakespeare, and more.
