Future directions
in Pāṇinian research
Special lecture-series (Online)
April 2023
Background
It is well accepted that the Indian traditional knowledge is all encompassing. The knowledge transmission in the tradition is systematic, and emphasis is given on thoroughness of knowledge. This is the main reason that the Indian tradition is uninterrupted and productive. Original contribution in any field of knowledge, especially in research, is not possible without rigorous training. As the time changes, the methods and means to do research change, and it is our responsibility to prepare the new generation to cope with the changes and be able to present knowledge in the new era. Hence, The Sanskrit Library would like to announce, in collaboration with Ganganath Jha Campus, The Central Sanskrit University, Prayagraj, a lecture-series regarding research in Pāṇinian grammar.
Purpose
The lecture-series will bring together scholars working in the field of Indian grammatical tradition. Their talks will enlighten young Indian students to take up fresh topics for their own research along with the application of digital technical methods.
