Welcome! This is my fifth year as a full-time teacher. I was a substitute both in San Juan Unified and Folsom Cordova for several years before that.
I live in Folsom with my wife, dog, two cats, and some fish. One son is still at home; the other is in college at Portland State University.
(This page is an introduction. For classwork, check out Google Classroom.)
The Creative Process at Work!
This is how I'll know that students are working hard: I'll see the smoke and smell the dead things.
I trust we will avoid *everything* that happens . . . The Next Day.
We like to hike. This is us at Carson Pass.
We enjoy looking for birds and plants.
My son's name is Quin. He is attending Portland State University.
My wife's name is Kim. She used to be a doctor and is now a Patient Advocate.
(Not pictured--Sorren.)
This is me and Kim in high school--a long time ago! We graduated from Casa Roble.
We've lived in Philadelphia, Japan, California.
I graduated UC Davis with a major in zoology and a minor in history.
I received an MA and Ph.D from University of Pennsylvania in the history and sociology of science.
I received my teaching credential from CSU Fresno.
I've written two three books!
I am looking forward to getting to know my students and explore the worlds of ancient history, reading, and writing.
I spent a lot of time this summer re-doing the curriculum for both ELA and history.
We are going to have a lot of fun and do a lot of good, hard work.
