Our goal is to help the Del Campo Community achieve safe and productive streets by advocating for transportation infrastructure improvements.
Every day, before and after school at Del Campo and Will Rogers, student, staff, parents, and other community members overload the current road situation, creating a dangerous and frustrating experience on an extra wide, low volume, expensive to maintain street.
Our solution: the 10-10-10 Plan.
Narrow Dewey Drive by 10 ft, which will
Reduce speeds by 10 mph, and both of these will
Reduce maintenance by 10%.

Corner of Palm & Dewey-- No sidewalk, ditch along bike path
Corner of Palm & Dewey, showing conditions students have to walk/bike with.
Biking down Dewey-- with trash cans out, no room
Biking on Dewey-- on sidewalk to avoid trash cans and traffic
Majority of students are driven/drive to school, which is leading to neighborhood congestion and additional wear and tear on our roads.
While many students listed the distance as the reason for not biking and lack of a bike, a good portion of students said the traffic conditions kept them from biking to school.
The intersection of Dewey Drive and Winding Way is comparable to California Ave and Fair Oaks Blvd in traffic counts
Each lane is 11-12 ft wide
Speed Limit 35
No sidewalk south of Moraga Dr, Open Ditch
Each lane is 11-12 ft wide
Speed Limit 30
Speed data taken on Dewey Drive in front of Del Campo HS, 3/19 and 3/20 between 10-11 am
Average speed equals 34 MPH 85th percentile equals 42 mph
Proposal: To relieve traffic along Dewey Drive at the start of the school day, we would like to convert Lane 1 in front of Del Campo into a drop off zone. The stretch along the football field is about 900 feet, providing an additional location for students to be dropped off, with the continued use of the front of the school
