This month we recognize the importance of eight schools coming together as one

January officially kick's off Admissions Season at SRTC!

Over the last 2 weeks of the month, Director Matt Petermann and Student Services Counselor Deanna Farrell will visit all 8 of our partner school promoting the 21 programs that SRTC has to offer. These presentations for current sophomore students are exciting and engaging. We bring along 4 current SRTC students from each school to join us in the presentation so their peers can ask questions about their experience at SRTC and hear the messages directly from those they know! We invite 1200+ sophomores to visit SRTC over the course of these presentations and cant wait to host them all in the beginning of February! SRTC is also hosting our Admissions Open House on Wednesday February 7th 6:00-7:30pm!

A lot going on in Precision Manufacturing 1&2 right now! Between testing the abilities for the upcoming SkillsUSA competition, these folks are always fully engaged in the planning and machining of parts and tools used throughout the shops at SRTC.

Cookies! Get your cookies here! Video Productions students are getting into action planning, filming, editing, and editing and editing again.. Cookie commercials! This talented group also had a hand in filming and editing the new intro to SRTC video you saw earlier in the scroll. That video will soon be shown to 1200+ sophomores at our upcoming partner school presentations for admissions season kick-off!

Information Technologies & Networking students spent some time in our Culinary Arts Program installing our very first Point of Sale (POS) system! This new system will allow students working in the front of house to send orders directly to the kitchen, process payments, manage the online reservation system, and gain valuable customer feedback! Access to this technology will give them an advantage entering into the restaurant industry, where most establishments will have a similar set up. Streamlining communication between those working front of house and those students working the line and preparing meals will be hugely beneficial for the management production of the SRTC Café, opening early February!

You Can't Run and You Can't Hide Either!

Students in Law Enforcement 1 spent a morning learning the technique of deploying spike strips and vehicle inspections. The afternoon group of Law Enforcement 2 also took advantage of the beautiful weather, reviewing building entrance and emergencies response.

If you've ever witnessed these guys & girls take down the classroom handcuff dummy, you'll know that there is NO DOUBT they will leave SRTC with the strength and skill need to thrive in the field.

SRTC Cosmetology Hits the Road and Comes Back Sparkling!

Empire Beauty School of Somersworth, NH visited SRTC as a presenter at our College & Career Fair this fall. This month the Cosmetology 1&2 students were able to visit their school and experience a day in the life of an Empire student. They each returned with a little memento of some sparkly hair tinsel. Way more fun your average field trip giftshop finds! Many of our former students have gone on to study at Empire and have successful careers in salons and spas all over New England. This was an exciting opportunity for our Juniors and Seniors as they think about and prepare for life after SRTC!

Health Occupations students practiced patient care techniques of feeding, shaving, and proper de-gowning. These are skills that they need to have completed and test for before beginning their clinical hours. Since this they have been visiting our off site partner location at Pinnacle Health & Rehab in North Berwick every other week gaining valuable skills in real time.

TOGETHER  WE  ARE...  SRTC!
