District 1 Honors Band Auditions

October 14th 2025 @ Sanford High School 

Four Year Rotation of Audition Pieces

Auditions cost $6.

Audition Procedures:

1.  Students will play two major scales at judges discretion- as written on the supplied scale sheet here.   Scales do not need to be memorized, but need to be played as written.  Chromatic Scale will be performed as written by all students.  *All students will play scales, including percussionists concentrating on snare or timpani.

2.  2025 - Amaryllis (Percussionists choose snare, xylophone or timpani part.) - ALL PARTS CAN BE FOUND ABOVE

3. Percussion only - Perform Multiple Percussion Etude #6 (Tanner Book.) See Ms F for that. 

4.  Sight reading - Selected by the judge, the sight reading will be no longer than 16 measures, in simple meter, including rhythms up to 16th notes.  Sight reading key signatures may vary.  All students will sightread. -

 Concert Dress:

Black button up shirt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes.

A black shirt, not low cut and no shoulders showing, black dress pants or a knee length skirt, and black dress shoes.
