CUSD 430 libraries celebrated Picture Book Month by promoting the book, Negative Cat by Sophie Blackall.
More about Negative Cat:
Negative Cat is the story of a little boy who loves cats and asks his parents for a pet cat every day for more than a year. When his parents finally give in and adopt a pet cat from a shelter (with a few conditions, including reading every day), they find that the cat is grumpy, ignores them, and seems negative....about EVERYTHING.
Until one day, the little boy opens a book to practice his reading and finds the cat sitting next to him, listening to him read. The cat becomes friendly and the little boy finds himself going to the animal shelter and reading to all of the animals.
It’s a book about the joy that reading can bring to humans and animals alike.
