Welcome! 2025-2026 will be my 29th year as a high school history teacher. I taught 16 years at New Bedford High School and 13 years here at Sandwich. I really love my job but also have other hobbies. I am interested in learning everything and love deep conversations. I am a constant reader and love biking, hiking, swimming, free weights, playing chess and Xbox (mostly Civilization and Assassin's Creed: Shadows currently), and listening to all kinds of music from jazz to funk to blues to hip-hop and world music.
My wife, Dr. Jessica Meade, is also a high school science teacher at Plymouth South in the biomedical sciences program. We have three Bergamasco sheepdogs, Freya (mother), Lorelei (daughter) and Persephnoe (granddaughter, neice) and they have hair, not fur, which forms natural dreadlocks! Yes. they are mop dogs.
In the summer of 2023, I enrolled in a degree program to earn my MA in American History. I've long held a MA in Teaching, but this has been on my list to do for quite a while, and I was looking for a challenge. It's been interesting getting back into research and historical writing, but I've really enjoyed it! Feel free to ask me about it!

This is a space exploration game that has over 1000 planets to explore. It's a single player game made by the company that created Skyrim and the beauty in the game is amazing! The main plot also has a few twists that is original as well. I'm still playing this since launch and I'm still having fun!
I currently have 7 main characters (Sorcerer Tank, Magicka Dragonknight, Templar Healer, Dragonknight Tank, Stamina Necromancer, Magicka Sorcerer, Magicka Warden, and Warden Healer). Basically, it's a MMO set in the Skyrim context world of dragons, magic, and warriors. It's cool!
This is the computer game I've been playing for about 30 years, if you believe it. It's a turn-based strategy game where you have to build a civilization beginning around 4000BCE and make lots of choices about resources, land usage, defense, trade, culture, and more. Super-fun!
